How to Knit Pique Rib Stitch [Free Video Tutorial & Written Pattern!]
Pique Rib Stitch is a lovely simple 4 row repeat that creates bags of lovely symmetrical texture. With only a 3 stitch pattern repeat, this stich is a great one to tackle as an adventurous beginner and really produce something that looks a lot more complex than it is.
I think this stitch pattern is really versatile and would work well incorporated into lots of different types of projects – from a baby blanket, to a scarf, and even as a square piece of knitting worked alongside other squares as a sampler blanket.
Pique Rib Stitch isn’t a reversible stitch, but the pattern on the reverse side still gives you bags of texture and interest, making patterns like scarves or cowls a great option in this stitch as both sides of your work will look gorgeous. The short pattern repeat, and stitch repeat makes it a really versatile stitch and easy to adapt to any size of project in a way that larger pattern repeats struggle with.
For those of you who are more visual learners, I’ve left a link to the YouTube tutorial at the end of the written pattern – so you can follow along to a video if you find it easier than reading a written pattern.
