How to Knit Flag Stitch
Flag stitch is a 6 row pattern repeat creates these effective little flag motifs in a grid pattern. It is a reversible pattern that makes it great for projects that need to look good on both sides (perhaps a wash cloth when combined with a simple garter stitch edging?)
It does have a tendency to concertina in a little bit from the sides when unblocked, so I would always recommend a light blocking if you were wanting a project that lays totally flat.

Love this pattern. It’s easy to follow and it’s great for knitting dishcloths.
I can imagine this looking so good in dishcloth form! Happy Knitting 🙂
