How to Crochet Straight Edges on a Ripple Stitch Blanket
Learn how to straighten the edges on your Ripple Blanket to prepare it for the border. There is a link to the video tutorial at the bottom of this post.

Top Row:
- Join yarn to first stitch,
- ch1 (does not count as a stitch)
- sc into same stitch,
- sc into next 2 stitches
- hdc into next 2 stitches
- dc into next 4 stitches
- hdc into next 2 stitches
- sc into next 3 stitches
- *3 sc, 2 hdc, 4 dc, 2 hdc, 3sc* – Repeat from *to* until end of row, making sure to work final sc into turning chain from row below.
- Break yarn and sew in ends.
Bottom Row:
- Join yarn to first stitch
- ch2 (does not count as a stitch)
- dc into same stitch
- dc into next stitch
- hdc into next 2 stitches
- sc into next 6 stitches
- hdc into next 2 stitches
- dc into next 2 stitches
- *2dc, 2hdc, 6sc, 2hdc, 2dc* – Repeat from *to* until end of row.
- Break yarn and sew in ends.

Hi, I’ve made a Ripple blanket using a slighty different pattern so I have 3dc between the 2increase and the 2decrease instead of 4dc. Which of the stitches would I lose on the border to straighten out the Ripple?
Would I only do 3dc in the valley?
