How to Crochet Blanket Stitch
Learn how to crochet Blanket Stitch with me! This quick and easy one row repeat gives a beautiful textured finish and works brilliantly in both solid colours and bold happy stripes. A link to a video tutorial is at the bottom of this pattern.
Stitches Used:
- ch – chain
- sc – single crochet
- dc – double crochet
Foundation Row:
- Ch in multiples of 3 to desired width
Row 1:
- 2dc into 3rd ch from hook.
- *skip 2 ch and work sc, 2dc into next ch*.
- Repeat from *to* until 3 ch remain
- Skip 2 ch, sc into final ch of foundation ch.
- ch2. TURN
Row 2 (Repeat Row):
- 2dc into sc from row below
- skip 2 dc
- *sc, 2 dc into sc from row below*
- Repeat step 3 until no sc remain
- Work sc into 2nd ch from ch2 turn from row below
- ch2. TURN
Repeat Row 2 until your project is complete. If you wish to change colours then please refer to instructions below.
Changing Colour
Changing colour is a simple process, you just need to finish the last sc of a row with your new colour, and then continue as normal with your stitch repeat.
