hi! I’m Laurelin
Welcome to my Blog!
I first picked up a crochet hook one lazy summer holiday in Finland when I was 13 – I made a hat, in a rather dodgy shade of tangerine and I haven’t looked back since.
Nowadays I’ve moved on from Crochet, and I’m now mainly to be found Knitting. I switched from a hook to needles about 8 years ago when my Grandmother died and I challenged myself to learn to knit socks like she did. Fast-forward a few years and now knitting baby blankets is my ABSOLUTE passion – something I’m enjoying sharing with you all 🙂
I want to show people that knitting a big project doesn’t have to be daunting, and that you can use simple stitch combinations to create something that looks far more complex than it is. I’m also hoping to break a few stereotypes about knitting along the way too.
I love to work with bright, funky colours, especially alternatives to the stereotypical pastel shades often used in mass produced baby blankets bought from the high street. I I like to put a modern twist on what is a very traditional, and often misunderstood craft.
This blog contains written patterns that work alongside my video tutorials, please reach out to me if you have any issues with them as I’m always happy to help further.
Happy Crafting!
