How to Knit Beaded Rib Stitch [Free Written Pattern & Video Tutorial!]
Beaded Rib Stitch is a knitting pattern that’s a twist on the classic 1×1 Rib. Instead of alternating columns of Stockinette and Reverse Stockinette – Beaded Rib Stitch incorporates a column of garter stitch in every 4th column giving the stich pattern an interesting change in texture.
At just a two row repeat, Beaded Rib Stitch is an easy pattern to pick up, and as the stitch repeat is only 5 stitches long, its also a pattern that can be memorised pretty quickly. Why not incorporate it into a larger project such as a baby blanket – or even use it for the ribbing of a garment, it has a similar stretch to 1×1 rib so it could be substituted into a pattern nice and easily.
As you can see from the photo above, Beaded Rib Stitch is NOT a reversible design. That being said, the back still has a nice texture to it and isn’t messy in any way. I’d be happy for this to be the reverse side of any blanket of mine – it has a defined textured all of its own.
