  2. Hi, my name is June and I have been knitting a basket weave jumper for my son and I found your tutorial but I am having awful trouble when I start decreasing in getting the pattern straight.
I am in my 90 year and gave up hand knitting many years ago and became a machine knitter. I have taken up crochet since I got rid of my machines but this is sort of a swan song , the last knit I will ever do for my son.
So I wondered do you have a tutorial to explain how to manage the sequence of purl and knit or recognise which is which when not following a set pattern. Ive taken so many illustrations off the internet but it still won’t sink in.
I think my main problem is that all those years ago I always referred to the V side as the purl side and the bump side as knit.
I should have the jumper finished by now, I’ve unpicked it so many times.
    Thanking you in advance
    June
